So I'm walking in DC, and the light shines down on the Washington Monument, and the clouds are all pretty, and, well if youre not familiar with Washington DC, its pretty strict security now-a-days. So i say to my friend Im walking with, Lift me up on top of this 9 foot plywood fence so I can get a view of the entire monument (oh yes, theres a BIG fence all the way around it, you cant get within a block of the monument, yes, one of our national symbols of freedom and everything else the US is supposed to stand for, closed off from us), and yeah, just ignore the cops standing every 100 feet. So Im lifted up, and hes not a very stable tripod, so I make sure the monument is centered, and snap the pic, and we fall down in a heap from the exertion of this horrid illegal activity (ok im being facetious about legality, but it is frowned upon, climbing fences in DC I mean).
ANYWAYS, it's not until I get it developed that I notice whats going on around the base, and I look it up, and theyre installing a tractor trailer truck proof security system!
so yeah. thats my story, I just thought it unbearably sad, that we have a battleground scene 10 blocks from our nations capitol.
